Brook Sigal - Ceramic Art and Eco Design
I am a ceramist-sans-frontieres. I belong to no country and no association. Ceramics is my passion. I started as an autodidact in 1999 and studied ceramics to post-graduate level at Central Saint Martins in 2015. I co-opened the ceramic studio La Mine in Paris, France in 2019. I give workshops in Paris and Italy.
I worked at the manufacture de Martino in Salerno, italy in 2007 and 2009 and over the years, apprenticed with Jane Perryman (smoke-firing), Marcus O’Mahoney (anagram, salt-firing), Linda Bloomfield (glazes) and Shozo Michikawa (deconstruction). And recently, a new series was selected for the Faenza Premio 62 (2023) by MiC (Museo Internazionale della Ceramica). As of August 2023, I left my studio practice in Paris to begin a year of international artistic residencies with the objective to disrupt my practice by combining new landscapes, cultures and crafts to my ceramic art.
