The Origin of the World

The Origin of the World, the ‘intentionally unfaithful revision of the famous painting by Courbet by the same title, is an exuberant and textured sculpture of a bouquet of flowers, laid down to be viewed from the same provocative perspective as the famous painting. The stems of flowers spread open by the natural force of gravity to prompt the eye of the beholder to peer into the mysterious core of this bouquet.
