WITHOUT PAINT PAINTING

THE CERAMIST'S PARADOX

"with out painting paint" are the rare words that the artist Robert Ryman wrote along the four sides of one of his early white paintings.*

In tribute to Robert Ryman, for these pieces, all forms of ornementation and interpretations are left out  - no pedestal, no lip, no handles, no themed decoration - just a canvas shaped vessel with the intent to wait for something or record the disappearance of something past.

*Years later,  with his unique white strokes he painted over these words.
