A CERAMIC PITCHER AND BIO-FILTER THAT MINERALIZES AND PERSONALIZES TAP WATER
A tap waterproject about making drinking water good for people and good for the planet, inspired by geological environments, riverbeds, traditional filtering methods and anti-bottled water initiatives.
The long history of filtering tap water for better taste and less contaminants is as pertinent today as it is tomorrow. In today's competitive water market, the consumer has proven to want to choose his drinking water for specific taste, health and safety requirements. Unfortunately, the substitution of tap water for bottled water is unsustainable. As it stands today, the estimated 160 billion plastic bottles, globally produced each year, will be and for thousands of years to come the most common vessel to be found in landfills or floating in our seas.
The Hydria-Sylvia water project proposes a traditional method to give people the water they want or need: an elongated, partially glazed pitcher to keep water cool and a range of specifically formulated bio-filters to personalise the mineral content and taste of tap water.
